Windage Tray

On street use , windage tray from Summit $40. (looks like a good piece) or say Canton $90. (with screen) ?

I used the one from Summit which was a Ford windage tray, has worked good so far, have to do a little trimming if you use ARP main bolts though.

I like the screen on the Canton, supposed to not deflect the oil back on the spinning crank, but the Canton is several times heavier than the OEM Ford tray. Either one should be lots better than nothing. I used the Felpro black colored gaskets ( I forget what they are made of), not the cork ones (they crack too easily) and stock bolts. Just have to ease the bolts in since theres not much thread gripping when you first start them in.

I have always used Ford's windages tray in all my FE engines. My '68 F250s 390 has one even. My 428CJ had one from the factory for some reason.

I'm also running the Ford tray (from Summit or Jegs, can't recall). I had to modify it slightly to use the FT 10 quart oil pan. But, it's working good. I also use the rubber Fel-Pro gaskets. I believe Fel-Pro simply calls them the "Performance" gaskets.
