I got another door to put on my '73. The door is from a '74. Shouldn't be a problem, right? I wonder if anyone has any tips on pulling and fitting my current door lock to the new door. Is it difficult?
Put a door lock set on that i got from a local parts house for $15 bucks.A quick fix and you get to keep your old ones for later when you can have a locksmith freshen them up

It's easy,
All there is to it is,Remove the horseshoe shaped clip from behind the lock on the inside of the door and remove the arm that actuates the lock.
I had the same prob. with my lock. I took it out and took it into the local locksmith guru. This ol guy knows his stuff. He took one look at it said the door lock wasn't bad, went to his bench, got out this key punch thing and started "punching" me out a new key. It works great. It cost me two or three dollars and has lasted about four years. I think I have some locks out of a 76 van. If you want them you can have them for the shipping cost.
