Has anyone brought their explorer to a ford dealership reguarding the recall for fires that start with the cruise control? my explorer is a 96 and i took it in and they said to me just the F150s and so on except the explorer. i heard there were a few engine fires . thanks Robert
Nothin on the Explorers. Only fires on full size trucks and SUV's
Thanks dirtydog43 just what i thought.just the idea lurks in my head about the very same setup with these vehicles and what the dealer said to me. its strange how everything is the same on the other trucks that i looked at and just the thought about fords brushing me off. well back to surfing thanks again
Ya no problem. I did change it on my '99 Explorer anyway. I believe the kit was $26 bucks or so. Pretty cheap insurance if you ask me. The part number of the kit is 1L1Z-9G652-AA and it is a 15 minute install. You can PM me if you need me to explain to you how to do it.
