Not sure if this is possible. I have the changer disconnected from the head unit. Is there a way to energize the changer with some jumper wires and a battery to get the cartridge to eject? Why don't I connect it to the head unit again ??? Well, because I gave the head unit to my grandson and I kept the changer. Now my wife wants the discs so she can load them in her new Freestyle ! That was one of my STUPID DAYS. There must be a way to get it out??????? Did you ever try and track down a grandchild....when YOU need them?
there is a way, but I would tell you to take it to your local alpine dealer and grease the palm of an installer with enough $ to buy some lunch. Basically there are pins that could be energized with some 12VDC, but depending on the model of the changer, they could differ so I'd let an installer do it for you. chances are they have had to do it quite a few times before. I installed for 15 yrs, did it a million times, but have been out of the industry long enough to not be of any more help to you.
