I need to know how to make the homemade version, I believe you have the banks transcommand module, if you have the torque lockup module from banks it wont help me make my homemade version. I also have the banks trans module but it will be going up for auction on ebay because I had a custom tranny built and it has all the bells and whistles.lol The banks transcommand saved my original up to 296000 mile plus, and I worked it hard. All I do is pull trailers
Well, im still getting to know this site so how do I search for somethin I dont know the name of. How about using my esp to search everyones mind, o wait I broke that along time ago. Isnt that why there is a message board to ask? Ford 390 I appreaciate imput, but that didnt help much at all. LOL
Do you want them to both act independently??? or at the same time all the time. it invols grounding one wire, and energizing another. with a few switches and a relay I can prolly make one, I'll make a diagram for ya. give me a few hours.
My version is very simple all I did was tap intp the tc lock wire. (purple with yellow tracer??) I think but I can check I taped into it right down by the frame rail. then ran that wire to a switch in my dash , then from the switch to a ground. . Dont know if this is the best way but it has worked for me.. dont know if it is shorting my tranys life or extending it.. But I do know it did save my trany from over heating this summer. J
yeah, I would like the jake brake and the torque lock up to work together. 90 percent of the time im on the road there is some trailer behind me. Im gonna buy the low gear lockup from the rv store. That causes the transmission to initialize the first and second drums or sumpin lik dat = more gooder...lol
I tell ya I love my exhauet brake its nice pull ponie's around. all I hve is 2 toggele switches side by side one for the t/c lock and one for the brake. so i can use them to gether or just lock the t/ c for more pulling power.
Good luck K-ford

Well guys, I have the whole works. I need to get some photos because It get long explaneing it. You start with a double throw double pole switch. One side is TC lock and the other is EBPV control and TC lockup. The center of the TC side goes to ground and the EBPV side is hooked to a keyed power source. Next are two micro switches. An old cummins jake throttle switch. This is attatched to your throttle peddle. The second is a jake clutch switch that is attatched to your lower dash edge behind the brake peddle and the lever is bent to just trip the switch when the brakes are releast. From #1 end of the switch run a EBPV wire to the throttle switch and then out to the EBPV below the turbo. From the TC side of the #1 end to the out going side or bypass of the brake micro switch wich goes out to the tc lock wire. Now from the #2 end of the switch on the TC side. Run a wire to the input of the brake peddle switch and your done. Now when you switch to the #1 end, the converter will be locked and will only unlock when the switch is back in the center but in the #1 position climbing in the hills this stops hunting of lockup and when you crest the hill, lift your throttle and the exhaust brake comes on. Switching to the #2 side gives you lockup at any speed. Good for over all fuel mileage. You have to shift manuely or it will do it for you. I have learned to use mine differently now. The brake switch was originaly installedas a saftey in case you forgot the converter was locked. When you step on the brake the converter uplocks. Nows the cool part. The brake switch is so touchy that you can let up on the brakes untill the truck starts to creep and then throttle it up to 1500 and release both peddles and from the outside it will sound like you just shifted. If the switch was on the shift lever you could drive 6 speed. I'm kind of busy right now careing for my parents but I have the timplets for the switchs and need to look at the wire coler for the EBPV. I do need to get the price on the micro switchs to see how this mod looks on paper. I have gotten a ton of hits from another forum so I will look into this. I'm not into marketing so I won't be selling a kit but I will freely give out my in fo. This forum deal is great for learning. If your not learning something every day, your not liveing.
