I was wondering if anyone knows how I can prevent the torque converter lock-up in 3rd gear. My truck is a 92 Flareside 4x4 with the 351 and E4OD with a B&M shift kit and 4.56 gears. It works wonderfully except that the converter locks up almost instantly after it shifts into 3rd, which lowers the RPM and robs me of power. Is there any way to disable the lock-up feature, like pulling the plug on a GM700R4?

 

The 94 book shows pin 4 of the 12 pin connector at the E4OD trans as being the Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid pin. The wire color code is Purple with Yellow stripe. Could try cutting that wire, and see what happens. Suggest cutting it away from the connector, so you could connect it back up again if need be.
