Trying to make the fuel and temp gauges work on my 69 f100. They peg when I put 12v across them, but darned if I can find the fuses. (Also, I shorted the cigar lighter circuit and blew its fuse and can't see that one either.)
This won't be much help, but I'm pretty sure there's no fuse for the gauges. You'll probably have to find what wire is supposed to provide the hot and trace it backwords. Might just be a bad connection or your ignition switch isn't powering the accessories?
F1, There aren't many fuses down there to choose from, but I think there is one in the box with cigar on it. It is possiable that you didn't blow it, although unlikely.
I don't know about the 69, but my 70 has an instrument panel voltage regulator on the printed circuit that controls voltage to the gauges. This would be one thing to suspect if your gauges are not working. I don't think putting a straight 12 v to the gauges is going to help if this is the case. If the gauges pegged when you put the voltage to them I would also suspect a problem in the sender or the wiring to them. You may have to pull the panel and ohm the printed circuit to make sure it is ok. On my 70, the fuse that protects the dome light circuit also is for the cigar lighter.
