Hi everyone
I posted a guestion back on 9/13 and got a couple of responces stating that Iam sure someone will be able to help me, well that hasnt happened yet. My question was that I was looking for a truck shop close to Uniontown Ohio to get a price for installing a lift kit. I was directed to the Ohio chapter but didnt get anything there either. I looked in the yellow pages and couldnt find any either. I find it hard to believe with all of us truck heads that there isnt more shops around.
Well I would like to but time isn't on my side right now so I thought I would bite the bullet and pay someone to get this done. Would like to have this completed before the snow fly's here in Ohio.
maybe you should try asking in the forum specific to your area then. I am more of a do it yourselfer so if somebody quotes me much over 20 bucks for anything, I just figure out how to do it and make some time. Besides that, the cold is the best time to work on anything because when you drop a wrench on your face or smash your knuckles you are either too damn cold to feel it or you've been loading yourself up with antifreeze (booze) and agian, no feeling.
Have you tried calling any of your local auto parts stores, car dealer ships, etc? Performance shops maybe? Talk to people in your local industry - someone's bound to have a connection for you. Maybe roll down your window next time you pull up to a lifted truck??
I have talked with the guys at Summit racing but no luck. I really didnt think it would be this difficult to find a shop. Back in the early 80's when I was building a F250 there was shops that advertised lift kits and the such. Well i guess those were the good old days.
Just keep your eyes open when you drive through town, and it looks like your on the outskirts of Akron. Don't they hold 4wheel Jamborees there occasionally? certainly there are gas station mechanics or something that have lifted trucks in your area. Try these guys: Below Normal, 3006 Myersville Rd., Uniontown, OH 44685. Pres: Paul Henkel Jr., 330-699-3006; Vice Pres: Steve McGuire, 330-733-0727.
They are listed as a 4x4 club in your town. They oughtta know.
