I have 2 1979 Bronco's,and one of them has a spoiler on the back of cap that is the same width as my rear window, and it really look's OEM,and if it is I want to put it on my other Bronco.Did Ford put spoiler's,or wind guard's on the far back of there cap's?It keep's the xhuast from coming in the back window.I jusyt want to make sure it's OEM before I swap them.Thank You for any help or knowlege on this.
It may have been an OEM option but if so, its a rare one. It would seem that such a device would be a good thing to have as factory equipment since it does keep air from rolling up from under the truck hence keeping out exhaust when the rear glass is lowered. Someone may be along who knows for certain, but as far as I know it COULD have been an OEM option.
I searched for quite a while before I found one. And the one I found was actually for a Blazer or Suburban but the width is perfect. I found it on ebay about a year ago, was NOS. It definately cut down on the amount of exhaust coming in the back window but did not completely stop it.
Yes, There is OEM ones they are all aluminum I haven't been able to find one but always wanted one. I tried the ones that you can get from Lund but they don't work. It's a air deflector. Suppose to help with exhaust as well as keep window cleaner by forcing air down. I've seen older Bronco's 80ish with them but no one ever wanted to part with it.-Bob
mine is aluminum, and it turn's out to be a actuall FORD OEM part.I just wanted to make sure it was OEM before I put it on my project Bronco. But if rare enough I might be forced to put it on e-bay due to me being unable to work from failed spin surgery's. Sad but true!Never have disc removed!!!!
