Surrogate Pregnancy
Any FTEers done this?
The Docs reccomend that my wife should not get pregnant. So, the wife and I are thinking about knockin' up another chic using our parts. (In Vitro Fertilization/Gestational Surrogacy(IVF). This is not a cheap process. Fortunately, the wife and I are making good money at this point. And with this process there is a chance for "Bulk Purchase" :-)
We have not ruled out adoption. We'd first like to try and get a varmint with some of our genetic make-up if possible.

I haven't done the surrogate thing, but it seems like consulting a lawyer would be a good idea. You will be entering into an agreement with another person. Having a formal written document spelling things out will protect you and your baby. I'm thinking of specifying things like prenatal care, who pays for what, what happens if there are complications etc.

My wife is a Lawyer! So, that will hel psome with the process. But, we'd still have to get a Lawyer knowledgeable in Surrogate pregnancies to create the contract. that's just another contribution to the high cost.
the bad part, it's really a gamble. We could spend $20,000 or more for the legal and the medical procedure and still not succeed.
I'm just curious if anybody here has taken that gamble..
