i have a 2005 F250 and procomp tires are on sale and i woudl really love to fit me some mean 35inch Xterrians on my rig with out a lift there seems to be lots of room in the wheel wells.I waswondering if anybody has any input on this and/or it will work ?
Leveling kit minimum, and of course you'll need wider than stock rims to accomodate the extra width. The 35s will bulge too much and then rub under turning sharply. Even my 295/75-16 (33.25") rub a tiny bit with my leveling kit.
33 rubbing on an 05? The 20" wheel tire package is 34.25". The 05+ SD's, with the correct wheel offset, can fit 35's without a lift. A leveling kit is definitely recommended it your gonna off-road it. It'll help with articualtion issues. You may get a little rubbing at full lock, bump, flex, whatever, but should be no real issue.
Do you know the correct offset? I'm not able to find info on that and would also like to put at least 33's on my truck. I really don't want the tires sticking out past the fenders or 'pinched' beads/sidewalls.
Unless the front end on the 05's are drastically different then the 06's they will fit no problem. I just put the Procomp 35-12.5-17 AT's on my 06 on the factory forged rims, no problems whatsoever. Looks sweet, fills up the wheel well pretty good too. I was gonna put a leveling kit on it but after driving it with over 1000 miles on the new tires it does not need it. Like I said though I'm not sure if there is a difference between 05 and 06.
No difference. The only thing with the factory rims is the width of them. For a 12.5" wide tire, you want to run at least an 8" wide rim just to prevent odd tire wear. Try to keep the rim width between 2/3 and 3/4 the width of the tire. Less than that and you'll wear the center. More looks goofy with the rims sticking out wider than the tread and you wera the outside edges.
For the offset, look at 4 1/4 - 4 5/8" of backspacing. You don't want too much or you'll rub inner fenders (no big deal), too little they stick out and you hit fender and front bumper. Right around 4 1/2" is good.
Oh yeah, supersnak250 and uzi556, welcome to FTE.

35's will fit fine with no rubbing but only on a stock wheel. My 2005 has 35's on 17x9 4.5 bs wheels and a 2.5 leveling kit, it rubs a little at full lock. Good Luck!
What about with the stock 05 18 inch wheels? I thought they were 8 inches wide? I made the mistake of running 305/70/16's on my 01 stock wheels. Wore the center out in a hurry, I did buy some 16x10s and salvaged the tires!
This seems to be a pretty popular combo, anyone have any pictures of their truck with this set up? I am thinking about this lift kit with 20" wheels with 35 Nittos, I have seen some that I have liked and some that I didnt. I saw a f250 with this lift kit and 325's under it on 18''s and it really didnt look much higher than my f350 with stock 18's.
