2005 full exterior conversion??
Does anybody know of the parts or part numbers needed to make the conversion from the 2004 to the 2005 look. I am sure you need the grille, bumper, and lights. any info would be great.. Thanks

You can trim/modify an 05 grille to fit in place of the 99-04 MY's.. There is an eBay seller offering completed/converted units if you want to purchase a mod. grille.. Either do a search for 05 Superduty Grille through eBay, or this item listing is still running 8004385465 .. He posts/sells often.. A cheaper alternative to a 'complete' change over to 05 parts..

does it matter, that i have a diesel, it look like the truck in the install is a gasser.
i just spoke with a guy at the local ford dealer and he was telling me that it wont work.. he was an old timer though... i am trying to order the stuff, just want to order it right the first time

has anyone had any experience doin this conversion, i just got qouted 1052.00 from ford all brand new parts. the guy at the counter says, i may need some additional hard ware, just wondering what hard ware i may need in advance before i tear down my truck and find out , i dont have all the stuff, to do the conversion?? any info would be great

Now as far as the bumper part is concerned, is it cut differant to fit around the grill and the headlights or just the middle where the grill is. I have a Ranchhand bumper and I was wondering if I could just trim it down a bit to fit under the grill to make the 05 parts fit.

i could be wrong here but i think its just the grille that is bigger and the lights are fine. i know that you can use the lights from a 99-04 in there instead of doing the 05 lights but i dont see the point in not puttin on the 05 lights they look damn good

I am working on this project myself. I have already done the mirror upgrade (to the ones with signals). I am going to leave the bumper, but I ordered the 2005 projector heads lights made to plug right into 99-04 models. I ordered the modified grille from that guy on ebay, and I already got all the emblems. I have a total of $450 in it so far (I am SERIOUS). This is going to be sweet when I am done.

i have an 01 excursion, got rid of the std mirrors with signals and got the tow mirrors with power and heat. as far as the 05 conversion, if the headlights don't matter, then you need bumper, grill assembly, and headlight mounting plate(i think its actually the radiator support, because of how the grill mounts and headlights mount)but if you do the 05 conversion, why not do the headlights. I can spot an old style light compared to a new syyle in a heartbeat.AROUND 1200 FOR PARTS AT FORD--LIST PRICE--WITH HEADLIGHTS--NO HOOD. ONE DEALER SAID THE HOOD IS ALSO DIFFERENT. ALL THE CATALOGS LIST THE 05-06 SD AND EXCURSION HOODS DIFFERENT THAT THE OLDER STYLE. I HAVEN'T DONE IT SO I CANT SAY FOR SURE..
