I'm pretty new with having a truck and everything so I, in the future will probably need a lot of help.
My brand new (200k mi) B2 is giving me trouble in a couple of different places.
It's and '88 2.9L Automatic High and Low 4WD
When it's cold or just hasn't been running for a little while it starts, but then it barely runs, only one or two cylinders fire at a time and it barely stays running at all. I have to wait for it to warm up for about five minutes before I can even drive it. Do I just need new plugs?
And, sometimes, it's rather sporadic really, the back left side of the engine taps really loudly. I've no idea at all. . .

The first things I would do is pull the codes (see "pulling eec-iv codes" in the tech info thread at the top of the forum), test the compression, test the fuel pressure, inspect the plugs/cap/rotor and pull one plug wire off at a time and see which ones effect the idle.
