I was just wondering if any one has put the K and N cold air intake on this motor and if you have does it help with power and gas milage?

I installed the K&N fipk on my '93. Didn't help at all, just made more noise in the intake.

I put a fram air hog filter in mine just the filter and i gained about 1-2 mpg. Main reason i bought it is you can clean and reuse it.

I've personally experienced more power, easy on the heavy foot though, and not so much improved gas milage from the FIPK, but the K&N air filter and new chip helps out, and tonneau cover actually helped out too. Gas $'s in California are a joke

I just bought the intake kit from K and N and I instantly noticed an increase in power and the increased sound under the hood of the air in the intake. my milage went from about 13 mpg to 17.3 mpg.

What year is ur truck and what tranny do u have? If urs is like mine and i get this much more i will be pushin 23mpg.

<TABLE class=tborder cellSpacing=1 cellPadding=4 width="100%" align=center border=0><TBODY><TR title="Post 3813465" vAlign=top><TD class=alt1 align=middle width=125>outlaw_5588</TD><TD class=alt2>I just bought the intake kit from K and N and I instantly noticed an increase in power and the increased sound under the hood of the air in the intake. my milage went from about 13 mpg to 17.3 mpg.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
What is the up date on the single cat, does it make u get better mileage? if so how much.

Could i put a mpi on a efi truck with out changing computors? My dad drives a service truck for a camper delearship and its a 1993or4 and it gets about 1-3 better then mine and its a 4.9 5 speed like mine but 2-3 years newer.

Thanks
adam

Has anyone tried a 650 Holley "spreadbore" with "mechanical secondaries" on a 300 inline six? I have considered swapping heads, as mine is currently an 89 efi, and doing the cam/portpolishmatch/cc etc. I would position the secondaries late into the throttle adjustment and surely change the jets.

My Truck is a 95 and I don't know what tranny I have . All I know is it's a automatic and a mechanic told me he thinks it has a shift kit in it but I don't know what that is or if it has an effect on gas millage.
