Hello- Welcome to FTE! I have moved your post to the specialized forum we have here for your question. Check out the list of tech forums we have here. There is a wealth of information and expertise here to help you. There are a number of links in my sig below to help you also. Have fun!

Yup, all Fords are numbered starting with #1 in the front of the right-hand-bank (reluctant to call it "passenger" side because of all our Aussie/UK friends who visit )
So, right-hand bank from front-to-back: 1,2,3,4, left-hand bank from front-to-back, 5,6,7,8
Swap #8 and #7 coils (you have COP - coil-on-plug) to #1 and #2 cylinders.
If the misfire moves with the coils, you have your answer
Report back, there's more diagnostics to go through if it's still in #7 and/or #8
funny you should ask, decided yesterday after taking others advice to go ahead and replace boots and plugs while i was replacing #8 coil. when i pulled # 8 notcied water drops on the outside of the boot, didnt think much of it untill i was cleaning up and decided to inspect the old coil. when i pulled the boot from the coil, water( not antifreeze) ran out. just got back from test drive and the truck is running great. as you can probally guess i dont have a clue where the water came from. is this a common problem? if so how can i prevent it from happening again. i dont want to ever have to change #8 coil again, more fun than i want.
i got a check engine light as soon as the miss started. the first time it was # 7 then # 8 . new boots and plugs & one coil fixed the miss. try some fuel injector cleaner first. without a code to give you some direction you could spend alot of time and money and still not find the problem. do a search for misfire and you will find alot of good info.
Even without logging a code, the computer will keep track of misfires. And unless that misfire happens repeatedly for a certain amount of time, it won't log a code.
That's the reason a lot of Ford dealers (and other mechanics) say "I don't see anything wrong" because right away, there are no DTC's, so why go any further?
Art it looks like I'm following you around but I'm not really ! lol!
All cheap scanners don't pull misfire registers from the pcm some do some don't
Codes won't be posted till the threshold stored in the pcm is reached.
And now with newer cars, trucks their using different ways to detect misfires before the pcm thinks there is a problem big enough to post DTC(codes)
Its getting worse not better after reading more today
I was talking about dealers/mechanics who should have a Snap-On unit or something else that should be able to read individual misfires but they never see it because they don't look for it - no codes, no problems, right? WRONG.
I've gotten a fuel pump primary circuit low voltage because I disconnect the fuel pump fuse and crank to get the oil pressure up after an oil change. Did it light the light? HECK no... but the code was there, and clearing it cleared all the diagnostics flags so it had to relearn everything.
So even if a code is logged, it's possible to not get the SES (check engine) light. It's possible to not even get a code when there's something wrong too, so ...
Somehow, I think they stopped lighting the light just so it'll still pass emissions testing (is the check-engine light is on, that's an automatic failure).
