No high school football where I'm from. I wish we had a team while I was in school though, it would have been fun.

We had a great season. (it has been a few years), but we were on the loosing end of a blow out last night. Lost 38 -0. On the bright side, our running back was selected as the High School player of the week!

He was selected after losing 38-0? That's pretty amazing. Our Quarterback was the Player of the Week last week, but he scored 7 TD's in the first playoff game.

The kid is amazing. Sad part about the loss was it was the 3rd round of the playoffs.

Way to go Rockets!

You guys are facing the guys that knocked us out.

IIRC, Unity knocked us out a few years ago.

But it's off to Champaign! Good Luck!

You going to the game?

Mustang beat Muskogee tonight, 48-44. We're playing Tulsa Union next week for the 6A State Championship.

Man, if you lived in my town, you wouldn't even ask..lmao. They haven't won a game in 2 years, and there are only 2 games we have no chance at winning, one of those is a team with a 7,000 yard career rusher(not a typo, seriously...7,000 yards) and the other is a bunch of 6 foot 6 inch tall recievers that have a few catches for a couple hundred yards a game. Class A football, we have North Mahaska and WACO, it doesn't get any worse.

Our entire team only averages about 70 yards per game rushing, 7000 yards is totally nuts. Our offense is more like Texas Tech. We throw all over the field. Our QB has over 1000 yards passing just in the 3 post season games. The kid's only 5'6" so he's got zero chance of playing QB at a big school, but hopefully he'll get a scholarship with a small school. Our average post season score has been 48 points.

I kid you not on that, this kid that ran against us this year had 7,000 yards rushing in his career, and he only played RB for 3 years. Our QB may have 100 yds passing if he is lucky, and combined our 2 RBs might have 100 yards rushing. We haven't scored over 27 points in 2 years, most of the games are lost by 20-30 points, its bad. I blew my knee out freshman year and said no more, not worth it. I think the running back that had 7000 career rush yards against us is going to play baseball for Texas actually, he is good in every sport. Football is on the rebuilding cycle here I think, cuz when I was a freshman, we were state qualifiers.

We played and won yesterday 21-14 in the semi-finals against the Kileen Eagles, we'll play Saturday at Texas Stadium. This is the furthest we've gotten in 8 years, last notable event in playoff's history for us was '72, we won state, and '79, we went but lost 21-20 in the last 30 seconds.

7000 career yards? That is ridiculous!

What's up with this 6A and 7A stuff? How high do you guys go? Texas only goes to 5A, and if you guys have seen Friday Night Lights, you know how our football is. There's nothing in Texas more important.

fiftyfourdf100: That's too bad about the knee. My oldest boy did the same thing his freshman year. That was the second time he had a knee injury so we called it quits. He was an offensive lineman and had a high school OL roll over his knee in a scrimage. You've only got two knees and they've got to last a lifetime.

RangerPilot: Oklahoma's highest is 6A. The smallest 6A school I've seen is about 1700 students, the largest is around 4500 students. Ours is around 2200 while the school we're playing is around 4400.

Growing up in San Diego back in the 70's-80's I think we topped out at 3A.

OKMIC1, yea I was the starting running back, the quarterback pitched it over my head and I saw a huge middle backer coming through the line, so instead of trying to pick it up and risk a fumble and a possible defensive touchdown, I dove on it, and he dove on my, hyper-extending my knee and tearing the Medial Cruciate Ligament, but he got a personal foul for late hit, I think I got the raw end of the deal, lol. Is everybody's post season still going? The post season for Iowa was over last weak for Highschool Football.
