grumbling/grind when accelerating + Turning
Ok, I have a '97 Expy with 188k on it...when I accelerate and turn in either direction I get a grumbling/slight vibe from what feels like the rear...Ujoints and double cardan are A-OK...how can I tell if I have an LSD? Would an LSD with no friction modifier do something similar?

Yes, an LSD would definitely do that. Jack up the rear and turn one wheel. If the other turns in the same direction, then you have a clutch-pack LSD. Friction modifier will fix that if the friction discs aren't too hammered... but you'll probably be fine.
