i hate electronics..........
hey, new guy here with a lot of questions. i have just installed a different motor in my tug truck. it is a 390 (stock) but has a 352 cam. i have a hard time getting it started but if i do it wants to die when you give it gas. its like its not getting enough spark. having that particular cam, do i need to wire the motor different or does the timing need to be set to that cam? im in the dark on this one.............i have put in and on new plugs, wires, points, cap, coil, seems like everything. it just wont run.if anyone can give me some advice i would greatly appreciate it.thank you.
Is your vacuum and mechanical advance working correctly? Also, initial timing should be around 10 BTDC. You'd like to see between 6-12 initial and mid 30s at full advance.
I may be mistaken, but I figure the smaller cam would make it easier to tune. then again, there were some radical 352 cams in the early 60s. Do you know which 352 the cam is from? A 67 truck cam is likely to be way different than one of the hot Car 352s.
