I've been looking for a new power steering pulley for my 86 f150 4x4 for a couple weeks now. The current pulley i have is bent and keeps throwing the belt off. I've check ebay for pulleys and complete pumps that i could steel the pulley off of with not real luck. Salvage yards that i have called don't have anything in stock from that year. 2 months ago i had a spare pump with pulley that i pulled off of a parts truck i got rid of, but i threw it away which im hitting myself for now. Does anyone have any ideas on where i could get a pulley (or for that matter pump with pulley on it). Only the pulley needs to be in good shape. I live in northern WV, so if you know of any salvage yards around here that would have or if anyone has a parts truck i would greatly appreciate a response. Thanks guys.
Yea the pulley will probably fit pumps up to 96, but my problem is I need a new/used v-belt style pulley used in the older trucks not the serpentine belt pulley used in the "newer trucks." All the salvage yards have the serpentine style pulleys but no v-belt style pulleys. I'm desperate here. Thanks guys
Try lmctrucks.com. I was looking at their print catalog last night and they had complete ps pumps and all the parts assocated with them. Pricing was very reasonable.
yea i remove and install the pulleys with a puller. The reason this one got bent i think is i installed a new motor in the truck and i think the motor pinned the pump against the frame rail bending the pulley. All the junkyards i have talked to only have the serpentine belt pulleys so i guess its gonna have to come from ebay or ill too find someone with a parts truck. Thanks for all the responses guys.
GemDandy junk yard in Reidsville,N.C. has an 86 I have been getting parts off of.Don't know whether they still have the PS pump or not.Area code is 336
