I am going to order a new f250 KR with a V 10 sometime in the next several months. If I get the camper package or the heavy duty springs will the ride be the same as without. Also, will either of these make the front come up to give the truck a more level look, or will it raise the back end even more. Thanks for responses in advance.
I have the Heavy Duty Service springs on my '06 250 6.0 CC
The rid was exactly the same as the non-heavy duty springs when I test drove them both. I think the HD springs lift the front up a little more than stock shocks but I'm not 100% sure. The Camper springs from what I hear compramises the ride quaility a little bit, but still nothing that bad. I wouldn't get the Camper springs unless you're gonna use em.
Thanks Diesel, I am not going to use the camper package just wanted to level the truck. Sounds like I should get the heavy duty service srpings. However, when you say that they lifted more than the stock shocks, mine would have the FX4 which have Rancho shocks. Would the heavy duty service springs still make a difference in raising the front.
i have an '05 with 3500 miles on it. f250 cc, lb, fx4 with the camper package. my truck sits level as can be. the ride is great. much better than my '99 cc/lb 2 wheel drive. the camper package just uses the heavier springs and adds an anti-sway bar.
I agree. I have the camper package as well. My truck sits pretty darn level as well. More level than the standard. Whether it raises the front, you make the call.
If you get a superduty booklet and read the options, you will see that it says that the ride height is increased with the heavy service option. I have an 05 with the camper package and it does not sit level at all. I have ordered an 06 with a 10/10/05 build date DRW with the heavy service package.
scott, then either something is wrong with yours, or with ag-fords and mine. mine has the camper pkg and sits level. just curious, is yours 4x4? not sure if that would make a diff, but the 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive '05 have different front suspension...right?
It is 4x4. F-350, which is higher than the 250 in the rear. That could be the difference. There has not been one 05 350 that I have seen on any lot that sits level. That is why there are so many posts on leveling kits. I would guess that is why ford also says that the heavy service package will sit higher. they don't say that with the camper package.

If you are planning to haul a slide in camper on your new KR , you probably need the higher legal payload of the F350.
The truck in my sig. weighs over 7500 lb and the F250 in that model would be very close to that. When I am loaded up with my 9 ' slide in Camper ,
I weigh in at just over 11000 pounds so I am barely legal. Most big campers out there would put me over my GVWR and I would need the Dually or an F450 to keep my insurance and my warranty in effect.
This GVWR is being policed in some regions more than others but it is becoming more widespread all the time and in British Columbia, we now see police check points at the Gov't weigh scales.
Even though the F250 and F350 are basically the same truck , there is no way you can change the legal GVWR so you must make sure before you buy . Both models can be rated for the same combined Tow rating but an F250 can be overloaded by the pin weight of a large fifth wheel.
