This thread has been quiet for a while.

I am hunting third season. Anyone else hunting any season? Have any luck yet? (bow, muzzle)?

 

I drew an either sex tag for third season also. I'll be hunting down around Telluride again this year.

 

I am heading up over Toponas for the first combined season. Going after a big bull that has been teasing me for 4 years. PUTZ!!

I think what you are calling 3rd season is what I call the first combined. First season for rifle for deer AND elk.

What area do you hunt?

 

I will be hunting near Montrose. Third season will be the third combined rifle season, 1st weekend in Nov. Drew a deer tag but will also get an Elk tag. That way I am guaranteed to see nothing with antlers.

 

AHHHHH ok. Then we were on the same track. I like to go during the first just so I get some of the cooler weather that drives em down but I don't freeze my big *** off!

I am heading out on Oct 21st for the start on the 22nd. Ooohhhh its getting close...I can almost hear the quiet of the mountains already.

 

Third season around Trinidad Elk. I have allways hunted second season but its been so warm i switched to third, hope my luck will be better.

 

Good luck to all who head out for the hunt. I have a new deep freezer that is dying to be filled. (Better be since I am going up with 4 tags.)

You know I have heard of different groups that help out with organizations who have a list of kids that are terminally ill and some have "wished" for a hunt. Something that maybe this group could get into? Would be a nice gesture. ????
