Already emailed you - Looks like you got a nice one for your truck. Just to keep from flying under false colors, that is not my truck, but is an example of what I want my truck to look like.
Dang Rubi...Thats the tailgate I have been looking for ...for 3 years now for my 70 F250.....I want the ranger like that...and I have a like new standard on my tuck now..as it wasnt used for 30 years on the truck..I had a Overhead Camper on it!! Good score bud!!
Well John, its not only the wood trim..my tailgat doesnt have the Trim piece's on it...and it has ford raised in the metal itself... I have the Explorer CS trim package with the rest of the body having both upper and lower trim...but the tailgate is just plain Jane..and it makes the rest of the truck look like crap..cause it doent look like it belongs.. I think I need a tailgate with the flat panel on the back..in order to piece together a nice tailgate..
Russ, Check it out, there is only one tailgate, the rest is trim pieces.
John
So your saying then there a flat piece that covers the big ford letters on the stock tailgate? with the smaller ford on it....and then you add the trim ?? Where can I find all those piece's?
Rus. Look in my galery. My truck is a 72 F250 Ranger XLT and has the same wood grane tailgate trim on it. I just took it off because it was beat up and painted and I wanted to try and keep the tailgate rust from spreading. I beleve you can see the raised letters. You will have to drill holes to get the peice to fit on tho.
Rubi. Definatly nice score. I searched and all I have is a painted black NOS XLT flat trim. I would love to find a decent wood grane one or maybe rebuild(fix and decal) my damaged one.
The tailgate is from a 57-60 Styleside and was used later in 63 when Ford was having issues with the unibody. It was also used on F-350 pickups in 64-66.
