PCV valve question

I have a 90 with the 2.9L and I can't figure out where the top part of the PCV is supposed to be tubed to. I know where the lower part goes to but on my BII I just have the top part taped off because my engine runs better, but I need to know where it's supposed to go so it will run better.

I wish I hadn't lost all my 2.9 engine pics but I don't recall a second hose to the PCV on my 1989. I'm sure someone will confirm this, you don't want to leave that open, it's a major vacuum leak, you may have the wrong valve.

That's why I plugged it on my old one, I haven't installed the new one because I want to get that little valve going to the right place. There were 2 different kinds, there was that kind that I posted a pic of above, and there was one that had both valves out to the side. Hopefully someone will come by soon.

If you go to a Ford dealer you will see that the original was a one holer. Just plug the top hole, there is no need for it. I also found that Ford part in this case worked better than the after market. IMO.

The after market one i bought looks the same. there should have been a small plastic cap to put over the smaller tube (the one pointing up in your picture). the tube point to the left (at a 90 degree) is the one you hook up.
