tranny Problem

My transmission seems to forget that it has second gear. it will go from first rev to 4,000 and then drop into 3rd or drive not sure if there is a third. when i shift it manualy like drive then second then back to drive it works fine. Is there some kind of compter or sensor for the transmission that I could change? The truck is a 95 250 5.8L v-8 351. I dont know what trans but it was made in windsor canada. Thanks for the help.

drop the pan and put in a new 1-2 accumulator piston and spring.if the seal is worn the intermediate clutch cant get fluid then the trans skips 2nd and goes to thirds.

You have the E4OD tranny. The only automatic tranny available with the 351. I agree with tech, check that seal.

i got the same truck it came factory with a c-6 they didnt just come with a E4OD

Did not know that. Only automatic trannys that I knew were made in 95 were the early 4r70w's and E4OD's. Who knew? Reason I thought it was an E4OD is because he wondered if it was a computer problem. C6's were not computer controlled.

We need to find out if he has an overdrive button on the end of his shifter.... and find out what the trans code is on the door sticker. E=E4OD
