Today, I was offered a 1977 F250 Camper Special 2WD for free. This truck is not currently running, but can suuposedly be fixed fairly easily (I'm not sure what is wrong with it). My question is: Will the body parts off this truck bolt on to my '74 F250 Highboy. The guy who wants to give it to me told me that it has a straight bed and body. I could sure use some of these parts on my '74,if they will fit.
Yes! Get the truck! Camper Specials have the heavy duty rearends too. I'm not sure of the '77 but the older ones had the Dana 60 limited slip which is a nice upgrade.

DHH...
listen to me, most guys say there is no diffrence in the beds. I know better! I have done two swaps on highboy beds and the 2wd beds (unless they are from another narow frame truck) ARE diffrent. the holes are in a diffrent location, and there is a diffrence at the back of the bed where the last two bolts go there is a web that gets in the way that has to be trimed. If you put a lift on it this wont matter. but the holes will be off still.
also...
the cab mount holes are in a diffrent place, measure the width behind your seat where the bolts go thru. the narow frame truck cabs all came with a seat tank too. most of the wide ones did not.
I could go on for hours but there is no need. if you want a direct bolt up look and measure very carefully! there are diffrences!
Thanks for the tips, these things are good to know. Now, if I see the guy with the '77 at work today, I will have some questions for him. Even if nothing will swap between these trucks, I can always get the '77 running and sell it. That would get me some cash to buy a highboy bed, if I can find one.
