well i am going to attempt to put buckets and conseul out of a 87 ford t-bird into my 77 ford f150 custom explorer, does anyone know if this is going to work or just a waste of time?also if you know of any pics of this swap or any swap for bucket seat pics id like to view them, also thinking of steering column swap, ohh and pulling dash to prep for paint, also i am really pondering the thoughts of putting the 5.0 out of the t-bird into the truck just to make something interesting does anyone know anything about carb to f.i swaps?thanks for reading.
I put leather bucket seats out of a '96 Taurus in my '79 Super Cab. Right now I am not shure if I like them yet or not. It was a major pita to get them in and sitting right. If it had not been so much work getting them in, I may have taken them back out already. I since have added a console from a 80's bronco that has helped tip the like/dis-like scale to the like side. Don't get me wrong, I love the seats, but I'm not sure they belong in a truck. I'll try to get some pics in my gallery in the next few days. I am going to leave them in for a while to see if they continue to grow on me befor I put in new carpet.
I put bucket seats (floor brackets out of '79 Bronco) and a console out of an '83 bronco in my '78 Supercab. There's pics in my gallery. Pretty much a bolt in as the front floor is the same shape between the truck and the bronco . I only had to drill the four holes that mount the console and four holes (2 on each seat) in the floor for mounting the brackets (brackets came out of '79 Bronco though).
The plus about this is that the passenger seat folds forward like the broncos so it's easy to get stuff in the back.
so when you use seats from a car like that do you have to build brackets and stands? it seems like that would make a big area for storage underneath. we can all use another nook to store trash in!
