Last week I was driving in wet weather and my engine was stalling especially when drivng through moderate puddles. I did get a code for my CPS, but sence I replaced the device it has stoped raining. I have a MAC air cleaner with the K&N outerwear and I am hoping the water is not coming throught the old air cleaner hole and causing problems at near related electrical components. If any have some suggestions it would surely be appreciated.

My '01 had CPS problems only when it rained. Eventually it started having issues when dry also. I replaced the CPS and continued having the same problems so I cleaned the electrical plug and the contacts on the CPS and still had problems. After that, I replaced the CPS again. Problem solved.
I guess some of the CPS's were bad from the get go. I would clean the connections good with contact cleaner or alcohol and see if it helps. You might have gotten a bad new CPS also.
Thanks AustinS, I cleaned the contacts with a good contact cleaner and also applied dielectric compound on the O-ring and fitting to hopefully eleminate any moisture in the future. I will only know if it rains. I do live in the High Desert of California and rain is rare, but when it does, it usually all comes at once. I just hope when Dunebuggy season starts my adventures will be without problems.
