Help me identify this, termites maybe?

they appear to be dermestid beetle larva...the like to eat old dry organic mater such a mounted animal head, skins, etc. very common, clean it up spray it and move on. there are however some beetles the do bore into wood and dermestids will even attack old unattended books, however will not produce structural damage...it a little hard to tell from the pics but they are not termites from what i see.

its odd for slugs to hide somewhere like that, they usually hide or nest somewhere close to where they eat, the garden or flower beds. but they do look like slugs, or mushrooms. i asume they were alive, or you wouldnt have asked.
rather than salt them where they are, id scrape em off the wall into a trashcan then salt em, ammonia works good too. if you kill them where they are, youll have a slime fest.
