Ok talked to alot of different muffler shops and most have suggested the Magnaflow muffler only since the truck allready has 3 inch tubeing. I spoke with a very custom shop today and they said they will only do tthe whole cat back system so that it is done right. This is the first I have heard of doing the whole thing 595.00 installed. He told me that it is a totally different muffler then the one you would just switch out. Any opinions. Also talked to Magnflow and he said the two mufflers would be 8x24 or 8x14. this one being louder outside as well as inside. What do you think
Wow, I just checked, and they do go for $450 or more... so w/installation, that's not TOO bad. Especially if there's a problem with it, you can go back there and complain.
Is he saying the Magnaflow muffler he will get you with his special cat back system is any different or "better" than the muffler you would get if you picked the size and style you wanted? Also what year is the truck?

He just stated that the muffler you get with the entire cat back system is different then the one you would buy to just replace the muffler.
I would tend to believe him. I had a Borla system on my 99 and the muffler was nothing like their universal mufflers they sell. All you need is just a muffler like mentioned.
Ok, how would it be different. I mean straight through is straight though and you can already pick out whatever configuration and quality you want through their many options of "universal" mufflers.
I have the Magnaflow Cat back System. It came with a straight in straight out muffler, and it was all bolt on. I choose it because I liked the solid stainless steel design. It is pretty cool with the muffler and tip polished stainless. If you want to look at a muffler. Only single pipe passenger side exit. Don't expect the V-10 to be Rumbling like a V-8, it won't happen. If your after the noise, you will be disapointed. My best friend went with a single in dual out flowmaster and dual exhaust, his is no louder than mine. Just the nature of the beast. 10 cylinders, smaller than V8 and fire more rapidly, produce smoother sound. Definately has a distinct signiture now.
