I put 200K miles on my '88 4x4 Supercab Ranger w/ 5spd and 2.9L. Every 90,000 I had to change the u-joints and carrier bearing due to excessive vibration over 60 mph.
That truck did mostly highway commuting Monday-Friday.
My current '00 Ranger (same 4x4 Supercab w/4.0L and auto) has 96K and has not needed anything in the driveline except recent (90K) relube of the driveshaft splines as is often mentioned here; Annoying thunk gone!
