how many miles?

i was just wondering how many miles before you have to start changing suspension parts such as shocks, ball-joints, etc. also i would like to know when should the rear-diff. and t-case fluid be changed? i know what the manual says but not everybody goes by the book. thanks again guys!

I have about 108K on mine and haven't yet changed any of that stuff. I'm not saying it's necessarily the right way, but sometimes... if it isn't broken, why replace it? (Statement does not carry over to oil, air filter, etc...)

i change the oil and filter every 3k and add a bottle of fuel injector cleaner to the tank. Every 25k i change the coolant, trans fluid, fuel filter, rear diff fluid, clean the throttle body and mass air flow sensor. at 50k i changed the thermostat, plugs and wires in addition to the 25k stuff. I have 57k on my truck and i have no problems, never had a check engine light and i get the same gas milege since it was new whcih is 19-20 city and 22-23 highway (3.0 5 spd manual). i just put on my second set of of tires and front pads. I repacked the wheel bearings when i changed the pads. i haven't needed to replace any front end parts yet since it is still tight, however i should replace my shocks soon since they are getting a little bouncy over speed bumps.

thanks

i usually never change anything unless its broken but i want to get as much out of my truck as i can. i change the oil and filter every 3000 and airfilter with tire rotation every 6000. coolant i change twice a year winter, summer. fuel-filter i changed at 75000mi. i do regular maint. but i was just wondering how much you can get out of the front-end epuipment and same for trans., t-case, and rear-end fluids as the are the most costly to do.

75k is way too long to wait for a fuel filter change. I have a manual trans so its super easy to change the trans fluid, drain plug and then just refill with 3 quarts. The rear takes about 2.5 quarts of fluid and about a half a tube of ultrablack to seal it, oh yeah a can of brake cleaner to dry out the rear so that i can seal the cover on without residual fluid dripping out and breaking the seal.

fuel-filter

i was going to change the fuel-filter at around 45000 but since i've got the flex-fuel 3.0 the parts store didn't have the "special filter" for this motor, i had to get it through ford and i just put it off way too long!

I leave my truck running and reach under the passenger dash and unplug the the inertia switch. It takes about 15-30 seconds before it stalls out. I still get gas dribling out but it's not pressurized.

I am at 250,500ish miles and need radius arm busihngs for some time now.

Sears wanted to charge me $365ish for changing them and an alignment....I have connections to get for opinions, so I didn't bite and I may be able to do these in the driveway.

I've heard other people talk about carrier bearings and split drive shafts. What year and model rangers have this? My 2002 2wd has a one piece aluminum driveshaft.
