Ahhh grasshopper, you are wise in many ways! HAHA thanks, I did nto even thinkin about doing that. Only other thing I was going to do is have the misses follow me and call her and see how far/fast we would be going.
How exactly do you go about re-calibrating the speedo? My 94 has 3.08 gears(2wd) and I put 32 in. All-terrains on it. How bad did this screw up my speedometer? I could instantly tell that the shift points were not the same. That was over 10k miles ago, still no problems, but the truck is more sluggish and short shifts itself badly. Unless it's floored or darn near.

Same here, i need to recalibrate the speedo. I used to have 3.55's, now i got 3.08's. I know i need to fix it cause sometimes I'll be driving down the road, and the speedo starts flying around.
I get around 14 mpg's. 88 f.i. depressing...my buddy with a 4.6 get like 18 mixed, and also has 220 h.p.
oh yea DT, did you ever hook chains to that chevy kid? If not tell him I'll hook him if he keeps it in 2wd . I need to get a new truck so i can swap over to 4wd. I know a guy who will sell me a front and rear end with 4.10's, T-case, granny tranny, and driveshafts for 300 bucks...but i gotta drive everyday, and thats not an overnight job. But man It would be a pulling machine! I'd put a good 1,500 pounds of steel in the bed.

Earlier today, I took my 82 E100 out for a test drive after installing a new radiator. Went to town and put some gas in.
Before, I used to drive with the windows down and abit over 60 mph. Would get about 14 mpg. My tires are standard 15 inch 8 ply.
I keep a record of mileage anyway but been changing some of my driving habits to see if this would make a difference. Mostly keeping both windows up to keep the "drag" down (van is an "empty box") and staying about 55 mph. Been doing this for a couple of weeks since my last fillup.
