Radiator temps when towing
I tow a 12,000 5th wheel with my 2005, F350, Powerstroke. The oil & transmission temps run level, but the radiator temp jumps almost to the red zone before the fan kicks in bringing it down. Ford dealer told me it's just how the guage is set, and all is well. He said that seems to be how it is, but offered to put a real guage on my pillar for $250. Is this normal? I thought the fan should kick in earlier.

NO!!!! This is not normal. Your dealership is full of **it. There is a TSB for an instrument cluster malfunction that shows inacurate temp readings on the temp gauge. Tell them to look it up. If they give you any more crudd, e-mail me and I will look up the TSB for you.
Makes me mad when I hear of dealerships giving BS like that.
