No such thing as an "OVERDRIVE SWITCH RECALL".

A flashing OD light indicates a computer-detected problem with the auto transmission. Think of it as the CEL light for the tranny.

Have the computer scanned to transmission-related codes.

Any dealer can check your VIN for any open recalls. Give one a call or stop by. Your's should show the recall for the cruise switch, at least.

The recall you are referring to is the Cruise Control fire recall, And yes your truck should be included in it. I just finally got the letter from Ford yesterday telling me to to take the truck in to have them disconnect the harness until the parts for the fix are available in November. Either call Ford or write them to get more information. Although, you can go on the Ford site and register your vehicle, then they will have on record what you have and automatically send you the recall notice.
As far as you flashing OD light goes.....PROJECTSHO89 is right. It is a code that is being sent. Watch and record the number of flashes in the pattern. Then you can look it up and see what it is telling you. Or you can take it to Autozone or some other parts store. Most will pull codes for free.

Take it to a dealer or parts store like projectSHO89 suggested.

Well I can post a picture tomorrow, but what you are looking for is just a wire harness with or 4 wires, (only one at location), and it is located on the front side of your brake reservoir where your put the brake fluid. Just unplug it. Then call your local Ford dealer and talk to service about setting an appointment to have the new part installed later in November when it arrives. If they ask for you to bring the recall form, let him know you haven't gotten it yet. Then contact Ford through their web site to get one mailed to you, or call them direct.
