Question Inside tire wear

I have a 86 F250 4x4 with a 460, and I'm getting a bit of tire wear on the inside of both tires. Ball joints are solid!!! Bearings seem solid. Could this be caused by the front springs sagging? Camber does look a bit off to me. Is there an adjustment? Where can replacement springs be purchased?

It would sound most like an alignment issue. Generally, if the outsides are wearing, it has to much toe-in. If the insides are wearing, to much toe-out.

I'll Check it out. Thanks!! I took it by a family owned shop and the guy was saying how there was no adjustment for this and that, and just pretty much gave me the impression that he just didn't want to mess with it. I tossed tread off a tire and need new ones now, so I need to fix it myself before I put new tires on it.

If the camber is off a little it could cause inside tire wear. You say that the springs are sagging a little, I would replace the springs and see what happens. I had the same trouble with mine so when I was going to buy a new set of tires I had the front end checked, was told the camber was off a little but he didn't have the proper stuff to fix it. Before the shop ordered the part I replaced the front springs and when it was rechecked everything was right on the money. Had no tire wear after that.

Check and/or replace radius arm and pivot bushings. Worn bushings affect both toe and camber (and possibly caster). Search this forum for "Radius arm bushings", to find how to replace those bushings without having to drill out or grind off the bracket mounting rivets. If the OEM bushings have not been previously replaced, then its highly likely they're bad. I used the heavy duty radius arm bushings (red) from TRW on my '83 F350 and am well pleased. I used a combination of threaded rod, nuts, washers, pipe nipples and 1/2" drive sockets to remove/install the pressed-in pivot bushings since I didn't have the proper tool(s).

I was able to get them down at the local parts store.

How much did you pay for your springs? And did it raise your front end any?
What truck are you driving?

Don't remember the exact cost but it was around 100 for the set. Did not raise the vehicle past stock height. It did bring the front end up to the original level and as said earlier that corrected my camber problems too. A good spring shop should be able to repair them also.
