I have a 73 highboy that the previous owner modified the vent window latches by folding pine tree air fresheners and shoving them under the latch. What do I need to fix these so they wont whistle.
That is the coolest mod! I'l have to do that to my truck! To replace the vent window seal through Dennis Carpenter Reproductions is $55 for one. Vent window handle is $32.50. Same thing is messed up on my truck but I havent had time to fix it yet.
I bet the truck was broken into at one time.
What happens is the mounting pin that the handle is mounted to gets bent and can't be bent back.
I have been broken into twice > Both sides and had to find a vent window frame that wasn't bent yet.

I had some success by pulling off the latch handle and carefull bending the pin back towards the regular window with a pair of vise grips. I also bored out the "pin" hole and used a finish nail and the original "spring" washer.
Do they offer the little nylon rubbing block that goes on the handle on this site?
