I have a 76 F350 2wd with the 16 inch split rims. I was wondering what years i can get 16 inch non split rims. Will E350 rims work? Would any of the rims from dodge or chevy fit?

Hi,
I am not sure of the exact years of 16" wheels that will fit your 1976 F350 dually. I had the same problem with my 78 F350 and got all 6 wheels and tires off of a 1979 E350 van. The tires were a little shorter in profile but worked out great because it lowered the trailer tongue and raised the rear of my skid loader trailer. The wheels look as heavy duty as the F350 wheels and I don't know if there is any difference. I was told that Chevy wheels are out because the hub hole is a tad smaller in diameter and won't fit over the larger Ford hubs. I really don't know if the Dodge wheels would fit. The other thing I am not sure about is if the 79 E350 I scarffed the wheels off of were the original ones, or if the van originally came with the split rims and were changed over to tubeless. If I had to guess I would say try the years from the late 70's to late 80's. I don't know where you live but if not too far away, I may be able to get you a set complete with dry rotted tires. Any Ford dually wheel will fit that used the taper head lug nuts so anything from 84 to the 70s will fit anything newer with the lug nuts with the swivel washers won't work. Those old split rims are a pain not many tire shops will even touch them I would rather have tubeless so any tire shop can mount a tire for ya. Ford used 16.5 tubless wheels and stay away from them 16.5 tires are hard to find plus they are low profile. Go here www.accuridecorp.com these guys should have the right info your looking for I had a set of their steel dually wheels on my 77 F-350.

Thanks for the help. I just talked to a guy thats lives about 30mins from me and he has a set of 6 16 inch F350 non split rims from a 1980 truck and is asking $200 for them. Junk yards around here want $450 for those rims so its a good deal. I have 4 235/75 R16 tires in really good shape here and i was wondering, will these tires work on a dually? If not what sizes will work?

I have been running LT 235/85R16s on my dually trucks for years with out any problems but they don't leave much room between the sidewalls so if your carrying lots of weight keep the air pressure up around 70 psi. You could always run Lt 215/85R16s on the rear and 235s on the front if your worried the 215s really look funny because they are a small narrow tire. I always thought about running a 7.50R16 in a 12 ply so you have the same diameter as a 235 but have better off road traction from the extra contact pressure plus you have the extra space between the sidewalls.
