I have a 04 expediton with navigation radio, 6 cd changer & dvd. I want to install the mobile ease system, but the guys at the dealer ship are telling me that ford did not make a wiring harness for the 04 navitation radio.

Both the in-dash 6 disc changer and the nav unit are made by visteon. I have close up pictures of the handsfree wiring harness and the back of the in-dash 6 dish changer head unit in this thread:

2004 Nav units suck. I bought my EB used in 08 and fortunately bought the extended warranty. Within 2 months i was on my 4th radio. It was working fine and decided to put in an in-dash dvd nav unit. Unfortunately the factory radio harness doesnt match anything in the aftermarket. No install kit either. I had to mend 2 different ones together to make it work. Still trying to get the factory sub hooked up....

For me (I don't have the nav system in my 06, but maybe something similar will work for you) I had to buy something like this (maybe not this exact model) but not from scoche - from metra:

Amazon.com: Metra 70-5702 8-Way Sub Plug with RCAs for Select Ford/Lincoln Vehicles: Electronics

I was then able to get my factory sub to work, with my new JVC aftermarket nav system.

Thnaks greg for the info. Unfortunately I have purchased every harness from metra and none fit the 04 Nav radio. Apparantly there werent enough people upgrading the head units in those trucks with nav to constitute making an install kit and 3 other plugs. oh well. waiting on pinout info so i can hardwire it in instead of gutting the fenderwell and adding a new sub, box, and amp.

Do you presently have an unused harness with 4 or 6 wires that might be for the sub? If so, it should not be too hard to tap into a couple of wires for left (or right - whichever you catch first), and ground, and then convert that into an RCA via splice. Good luck to you!

I agree.
I am using the 2007 release CD's in my 2004 Expy with Nav.

BTW, I have a second set of the three disks that cover the western 1/2 of the U.S. that I would sell for my cost ($50). I purchased them from someone that said they bought a new update from Navteq in Feb. 2011. Well, Navteq must have stopped making new releases of the CD sets now that all of the new systems are DVD based, because these disks have the 2007 copyright date on them.
These would be an inexpensive upgrade for someone that is still using the 03 or 04 release dates.
PM me if you are interested.
