08 Navigation start up without nav DVD?
Hey guys,
My 08 F350 has the factory Navigation. Since I got the truck 2 years ago, the stereo eats a navigation DVD per year. They get scratched beyond repair and quit working. Anybody else have this problem? I'm tempted to just put in an aftermarket stereo head considering they cost less than a new navigation DVD.
Well today my alternator gave up the ghost and the truck died (and got towed by a Dodge, that one hurt the ego) After putting in a new alternator and charging up the batteries, the radio tried to restart and gave me a message saying the NAV DVD could not be read or was not valid. I don't care about the navigation, I don't use it, but it won't let me use any radio functions or turn it on without putting in a nav DVD that it can read. Does anyone know a way around this issue? I just want to be able to listen to the radio again.
