My 2002 3.0 squeeks also. It started about 6-10 months ago. Just like the other guy described it does it when its cold or rainy. I have 57k on my truck with the stock belt and tentioner. I hadn't replaced the belt since it has absolutely no cracks on it and you can still kinda read the writing and part number on the backside which is rare. It only squeeks for about 5-10 seconds when i start it on a cold morning. It actually hadn't done it all summer but since it just got colder out it started up again. I'll wait till it gets worse before i fix it.
the belt or the pulleys can get glazed which causes a belt to slip causing the noise. i've tried belt dressing and it works, for awhile. i may have to start changing some pulleys. a new belt will probably do the same thing, it didn't help me. i'm pretty sure the belt is no longer slipping so this leads me to the pulleys. the first one i'm changing will be the ac.
Here's something for you to think about, you have four things being turned by the belt, the crank pulley has to apply the power to the belt to turn all of these so that would be the one I would expect to slip first.
isn't there five things. water-pump, power-steering, alternator, ac, and crank. anyway, thanks for the heads up, i will definately start with that one. don't they call that the harmonic balancer?

The crank pulley drives the belt, not the other way around.
On the other hand, all the other pulleys are driven by the belt.
so have you changed the crank pulley. if so, how difficult is it? isn't there a hand-held device you can use to hear where the noise is coming from exactly?
