EEC relay and eec box power questions...

EEC relay and eec box power questions...

Im swapping a 88 efi 460 into the ol 79 ford as some of you may already know with previous questions. Ill be putting the computer and harness in complete and that leave me with needing power to the computer circuit in total. Now to do this i need to understand how it opperates. IF I put power to the appropriate side of the EEC relay, will it power up the appropriate pins to the computer, i believe there are 3 keyed and one constant? Does that eec relay do all of that. OR do i have to power those wires to the pins that are for power? or both? I just dont want to experiment with it and pop the eec or something fun like that. So school me if you may

Pins 37 and 57 are the output of the EEC relay; that output also connects to the injectors, the idle air control valve, canister purge valve (if applicable), and EVR, TAD, TAB solenoids. I believe it also goes to the turn on side of the fuel pump relay. The computer needs constant 12V on pin 1. This might be helpful too: http://fordfuelinjection.com/truckpinouts.html
