i ran this setting again today and i cant believe the egts. if i were to hold my foot in it the egts will climb well past 13-1400 degrees. how can we safely tow with this thing because im empty right now and bought it only for the added tow power to compensate for the larger tires. is there a better choice in programers that i should have made or are they all pretty similar to the predator? i like the added power though.

Since you have bigger tires and not knowing your rearend ratio, it is not surprising you are getting high temps because of your higher gear ratio. . what towing weight are you pulling?.. On my diablosport in the towing mode with my 99 psd with a 4-10 rearend, pulling 6000 lb trailer up a mountain pass hiway, I will run up to about 1350 degrees (pre turbo readings)if i push the pedal to floor.. But I back off abit and try to keep it below 1300. I doubt the superchip tuner would make any difference.. Just my opionion..

 

That doesn't sound anything like my experience. I just got back two hours ago from pulling a #8,500 goosneck horse trailer through the VT hills using the tow setting (40HP). I have a post turbo pyro and I was able to go up all but the steepest grades in over-drive and easily held 65-75 MPH and temps did not get above 850 post turbo. Now I did play a bit with the 60HP setting and the EGT's did get a lot hotter a lot quicker so I took it back down to 40.

I have a 4" downpipe and exhaust, I loved watching the temps drop 300-400* within 20 seconds after cresting a hill. Outside temps during my towing was between 65-72*.

By the way, it's okay to run the 60HP setting unloaded and no towing, right?
If I were to tow anything, it would just be two jet skis.

Or should I just go down to 40HP and run it at any speed and load I want?

 

Theoretically you can tow at any setting you want as long as you watch your EGT's. I usually tow in the 60 HP setting for local runs and 40 HP if I'll be doing some long climbs (i.e. Vermont).
