Well JD, the proof is in the pictures. Maybe when I removed mine I just went ahead and removed the bearing and all like I would on most any front drum brake job. The whole time not realizing that I was pulling both pieces. Makes sense. I will admit I have never had to purchase a drum for my 65 so I really have had no reason to look into the matter.

I still stand by the fact that most front brake drums come as a single cast piece. Soon as I get a chance I'll give a look at how the parts catalog lists the Ford drums. This has been very interesting.

Well I'll tell you what, the first time I tried to separate my drums I thought they were one peace. and it takes a lot of press to get them apart. I don't know if I could separate them with a arbor press.

LCB got mine in correct shape: knocked out the old studs and put in new ones that allow the drum to slip on and off. Now it's fun fun playing "find the leak" in the brake lines. Thought I tightened everything down correctly. Guess I was wrong.

I'm confused by the statement about the new '66 hubs because my mid-year production '66 has the drum firmly fastened to the hub via the studs. I just pulled them this last Friday and the hub & drum came off as one piece. Re-packing the bearings just takes me back in time!

I believe that the studs that allow it to slide on and off are an updated not original. What ever they are they sure make life alot easier.
