Replacing a Neutral Safety Switch
I have a 94, F-150, 6 with a E4OD transmission. Has anybody changed out the Neutral Safety Switch on one of these? I got under the truck and looked at the switch yesterday and it looks like all that is holding it are 2 bolts and the bolt that holds the shift cable and then the electrical plug. Is there an adjustment you have to make after replacing the switch? The price for changing one out down here is 110 and 115 for the switch. I can get the switch from a parts house for 36. I just got through investing 630 for the front seal and an oil cooler on the transmission. I have a Haynes manual and its not much but it does talk about an adjustment tool.
