I ended up taking one bolt out of the pulley and using some steel bar stock, drilled a hole in it and bolted it to the pulley. The bar stock it acted like a spanner wrench and held the pulley. I then used a 1 7/8 wrench and a 3 pound deadblow to knock the nut loose. It took a couple whacks to break free. Worked really well.

I took my pump and put the water blades on bench vise. The spun fan off. It is not fun. That is with pump and fan out of the truck. With pump on truck leave belt on and use a wrench on big nut on fan tap it with a hammer. Works kinda like a impact.

For those of you that have a bandsaw, some scrap hardwood stock, and some lag bolts, this is what I built to remove the fan/clutch assembly. Note a reinforcing deck screw where I have shown another one.

I just did this yesterday. Put a large adjustable on the fan pin - with belt still attached. Whack it with a hammer and it will break loose real quick.
NOTE: try not to cross-thread it going back in!
