REMOVAL
1. Drain the coolant. Detach the radiator lower hose and the heater return hose from the water pump.

2. Remove fan and clutch assembly using Fan Clutch Pulley Holder T84T-6312-C and Fan Clutch Nut Wrench T84T-6312-D or equivalents. Remember primative pete - use the right tool for the job!
3. Loosen the alternator mounting bolts and remove the belt. Vehicles with A/C, remove alternator and bracket.
4. Remove the water pump pulley.
5. Remove the water pump assembly attaching bolts and remove water pump assembly.

Make sure you know whether the fan is held on with a right hand or left hand thread. I've seen some vehicles that use a left hand thread. Not sure about the 2002 Exp. I'm sure someone on the board will know.

clutch fan tool don't work

This tool doesn't work on a 96 Ranger 3.0. Looking at this drawing and looking at my pulley, there is nothing to grab onto. I know some may disagree with me but you have to look at a Ranger 3.0 too see.

The wide mouth spanner (rear one) fits astride the 4 pulley bolts. 10 min and mfg my own...the clutch spins on CC...
