Confused About Weld Through Primer

I see this mentioned here and in sheet metal repair articles but I am not sure what comprises a "weld through primer'. I see POR-15 mentioned in the same context, I see references to "zinc rich primers" but I cannot find a spray can labeled "Weld Through Primer". The local paint shop knows about it but acts as if the last can they sold was years ago and they don't stock any.

What should I be looking for - are there brand names for this product?

There is some cautions about welding near POR15 you have to use NIOSH/MSHA approved respirator or something about the fumes will KILL you.....called isocynates or something like that.

I have rarely heard of them called "weld through primers".

A more common term for them is 'Weldable Primers'. They can typically be found at Industrial Coating suppliers.
