steering wheel

I have a my 77 F250 4x4 highboy, when i get to speeds of 55mph and higher the steering wheel vibrates up and down. What causes this? Its got a 390 and NP435. 44 front 60 rear.

Sounds like a tire balance problem.

Make sure that your shocks are good. shocks are used to cushion the reverberation of the spring and if they are bad then you will get a nasy vibration

i think you to have rims and tired checked also, years
back i ran my truck without my shocks while i was
painting them. and was suprised it ran so well.
