I have a f-250 psd 4x4 and I am needing new tires. any recommendations.
I do not do alot of off roading and live in oklahoma where snow is usually nat a problem. I would like a good all terrain tire.

I have had really good luck with Cooper Tires,, currently running the S/T's, awesome on or off road,, 20,000 and seems like no wear yet..Last set lasted 60,000 miles. Not bad for $575.00.
....don't know if they have them out west but after looking at a lot of tires, especially the prices, I ended up buying a set of LT265/75R16 Futura Adventurer H/T put on a set of aluminum American wheels from Pep Boy's Automotive chain. The Futura is their "house brand" and they are the only one who sells them...and for $90.00 a tire they were $50.00 a piece lower than any other decent tire.
They have been on the truck for right at a year and 20K miles with no problems. I think they are rated for 60K. The tread is more aggressive than a straight street tire but less aggressive than an all-terrain. Has been excellent on the highway and MUCH better than the LT235s that came on the truck...that is a 1996 F250. I thought I might need snow tire here in the winter but these worked just fine.
Had two sets of BFG All Terrains on my '95 now. Got 57,000 on the first and 61,500 from the second set. Third set put on in March this year. They are a good compromise between an aggressive mud tire (which I can't justify-not enough off-road driving) and a wimpy looking street tire. They provide good traction in many terrains-sand,mud,dry dirt, and highway. They aren't too awfully noisy, though I miss my Buckshot Mudders!! Some advice-Keep 'em rotated religiously, CHECK your air pressure, and keep it aligned. Happy Trails!
Nitto Terra Grapplers lasted me 54K and performed well. But I recently put on a new set of Bridgestone Dueler REVO's and they are fantastic. Great traction, smooth ride, and as quiet as can be. Just my 2 cents worth.

I agree.....Nitto, and Bridgestone both make good tires. And yes, I do know that Firestone owns Bridgestone in case anyone is wondering.
I've seen too many rollovers in Texas alone, to give Firestone any vote of confidence at all........The number of lives lost is a damn shame.
I ran a set of Cooper Discoverer LT 255/85 x 16 and got around 65,000 out of them. I now have Cooper Discoverer ATR in 285/75 x 16 and they are quieter than the Discoverer and have good traction in the fields. My truck is two wheel drive with an open differential so tires are about the only thing I have going for me off road.
It all depends on what size of tire you are running the quietest highway tire is the Michelin LTX M/S. If your looking for a good all use tire the TOYO M-55 or Bridgestone V-Steel VSX or Michelin XPS Traction or BFG Commercial T/A Traction. What alot of people around here are going with is Hankook Dynamic Radial Z-36 its a good all around use A/T.
thanks for the info. my truck has 265x75x16 now and I was told that the 285x75x16 does not come in 10 ply and that I wouldn't get the milage because of the weight of the truck. Also they told me it would throw the tranny and speedo off and cause abs problems. Any ideas?
