You may be right, but you ever drink or eat somethung that made your stomach slightly upset?

That may be caused by bacteria from that source.

Bacteria doesn't grow in your mouth if one uses dental hygene.

It will grow in a bottle, however.

Hey, I reuse my water bottles all the time, except I use the sports bottles (Gatorade, etc.).

They're more heavy duty and easier to clean.

JMHO.

all bottled water is tap water. though filtered and certified clean, its still just tap water. "bottled at the source" means it came from the municipal water supply of wherever it was bottled.

Spring water, is water from underground, usually the whole city there runs on it too.

in order to sell bottled water it has to be strictly filtered and purified before bottling. no matter the brand, its all the same in the end. I promise!

I drink distilled water. Don't know where it is bottled. Comes from the food store. Supposed to be better for you. Maybe and maybe not, but it tastes better than our tap water.

That information in the re-use of water bottles is true for any kind of eating or drinking utensil. Nothing new there. The Nalgene bottles are no less susceptible.

The threaded area under the cap is always a danger zone, but then so is the top of that favorite brew whether it be can or bottle (either plastic or glass).

Life is hard, then you die...

I prefer the Busch or Budweiser brands of bottled "water".

Remember to just pour it into your mouth without touching the container...

I work out of town a lot so I buy bottled water. I buy the store brand in the 4 litre / 128 OZ (for the Americans) jug; they're usually about a buck fifty. I've seen 1 or 1.5 litre bottles in convenience stores for up to $3.00... ripoff.

The Nestle brand Aberfoyle water is wierd, tastes salty but sometimes the 1.5 litre bottles are really cheap at Zellers.

I don't care how many times you brush and gargle, everyone has bacteria in their mouth, it belongs there (normal flora). If we didn't have normal flora, pathologic species of bacteria would colonize and then we'd really be sick. It happens with immunocompromised patients (HIV for example), they lose their normal flora from all the meds they take and then they can get all kinds of infections.

I didn't know what I was thinking at the time in saying that statement on bacteria growing in the mouth.

I was trying to say something else.

You're absolutely correct.

Sorry for the mis-statement.

That's what happens when I'm on the computer, watching TV and listening to the radio all at the same time.

Hmm. All this talk about reusing bottles, I might have to bring my Powerade bottle home and put it in the dishwasher.

At home though, we got Nestle Pure Life, and when those get empty, I fill them up with the water from our Brita filter. Maybe I'll start cleaning those ones too.

Don't put them in the dishwasher. It may melt.

Warm soapy water and a bottlebrush.

We drink nothing but bottled water. Its because our house is located near a landfill that closed down about 10 years ago. 1 or 2 people have had their wells tested and their water was not recommended for drinking. We dont know if our water is polluted or not (testing it will cost over $400), so we drink bottled water just to be safe.

We get the 5gal jugs from Mountain Spring (I think thats the name of the company)....its the best tasting water I've ever had, and you cant beat the price. $5 for each 5gal jug delivered to your door-step.
